This just reminded me of a phrase I used to make fun of "___ (referring to Hermie) like sotong" (which I never understood the meaning of) :-D

  2. Hahahaha. Well done Ippo, you've learned our slang. Sotong is actually a malay word for octopus. When calling someone 'sotong' means that it's calling someone 'blurred' or 'confused'. The full slang is 'blur like sotong'. :D

  3. I know the phrase, but I never understood the analogy, i.e. why octopus?

  4. Haha. I not too sure how it started but my guess was it started from a degrading name-calling. Well, Singaporeans like to name-call others. Won't be surprised this led to an national slogan. Hahaha.
