My Spritez has passed over the rainbow bridge today. She was still breathing in the morning but when I came home, she was gone. We have braced ourselves for this coming since we saw the lump. However, little Spritez as bubbly as ever, showed no signs of giving up and happily continued her daily routine. Saturday, we took her xmas photoshoot and she was still actively running around and munching her treats. But yesterday night I found her lying quietly in one corner of her cage, refusing to come for her dinner she usually pounced on. I gave her the favourite pats and rubs, this time round she shunned away and moved into an inner corner and never came out. This morning she peered out to me when I looked at her and went back to sleep. She never woke up again.
Here are the christmas shots she gave us, the last of her appearance. RIP my intelligent hammie. :(

oh gosh, so sad to come home to see this news. I'm so sorry to hear of Spritez's passing. She was pretty till the end as evident from the xmas photoshoot. and I'm glad she was active and enjoyed her life fully. I think she said her sweet goodbye to you by peering at you. I will always remember her cute face and sweet nature. R.I.P Spritez

Thanks all for the condolence. I love Spritez since the day I first saw her and she has been such an intelligent and responsive hammie who knows how to win me over.
I'm thankful to at least have her photos for this x'mas. Hope she'll be happier over at Sunflower Valley.

Aw I'm so sorry to hear about Spritez! I remember reading the post about you bringing Spritez not too long ago. It's sad isn't it when you know that your pets' days are coming to an end. What timing that you managed to take pretty photos of her before she's gone. She probably felt that it was her time to go.
Hey, just a curious question, is there a pet cemetery in Sg, since I know that after 15 years even human bodies are dug up & removed from the burial grounds.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Until now I still don't know how old Spritez is because she was adopted (a pity I can't track), but she looked very aged. I hope I gave her a good life until her golden years.
Ippo, I think there is one but I'm not too sure. It's mainly for bigger animals. For my hamsters, I buried them down from my apartment on the communal playground. Months ago, contractor came to dig out the soil and the day before again. So it's sad to say, all my hamster graves are gone and destroyed. Here in SG, nothing last. Mean but true.
Thank you for taking the time to write this
